Downbeat's Annual Critics Poll showed DHodge lots of love this year by awarding him with 132 votes making Derrick a frontrunner in the "Rising Star: Electric Bass" category. Derrick's work with the Robert Glasper Experiment also got nods as the Experiment topped categories in "Beyond Artist or Group" and "Beyond Album" for the release of Black Radio 2. Blue Note records recently announced the release date for drummer Otis Brown III's debut album, The Thought of You, which Derrick co-produced.
